From Rajinikanth to Akshay Kumar, many actors, who now lead a luxurious life, once struggled for their basic needs as well. One such actor, who didn't have money for ration, is now a superstar, lives a super luxurious life despite being away from films.

The actor we are talking about is known for his slapstick performances and dancing skills. After he was rejected for a job in the hotel due to lack of English speaking skills, he decided to be an actor and later ruled at the box office. He is none other than Govinda. 

Govinda is regarded as one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. Time and again he impressed the audience with his performance in comedy roles. However, he faced several struggles before he achieved the feat of superstar in Bollywood. 

The actor said in an interview that his childhood was filled with financial constraints and other problems. According to Govinda, there was a time when his family was not able to afford ration. So, they had to borrow from the shop to keep themselves fed. He revealed that since they were unable to pay for the ration, the shopkeeper used to make him stand for hours. To handle the financial situation, Govinda looked for jobs in a lot of places; since he did not know English, he could not get one. 

However, he then decided to try his luck in films and made his Bollywood with the film Tan-Badan in 1986. His next two releases, Love 86 and Ilzaam turned out to be commercial success at the box office. Soon he rose to stardom with the film Shola Aur Shabnam and went on to give hits like Raha Babu, Coolie No. 1, Andolan, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1, and by the 90s, he became a superstar. 

According to a TV9 report, Namashi Chakraborty revealed in an interview that even though Govinda was a superstar, he used to make tea on set for him whenever he came to the set with his father Mithun Chakraborty. 

The actor left the film industry in 2017 after flops. However, he still leads a luxurious life. According to a report in Lifestyle Asia, he has a net worth of Rs 170 crore with an annual income of INR 10-12 crore. He still reportedly charges around INR 5-6 crore per movie. He charges about INR 2 crore per brand, which adds to his wealth.
