Sanya Malhotra made her acting debut with Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal and her most recent release is Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan.
Sanya Malhotra made her acting debut in the 2016 sports drama Dangal in which she portrayed the real life wrestler Babita Kumari Phogat. She then went on to star in multiple small budget critically acclaimed films such as Ludo, Pagglait, Badhaai Ho, and Kathal until Jawan, her latest release and the second biggest film of career.
In the action thriller, the actress is a part of Shah Rukh Khan's gang of girls, who assist him in his Robinhood-esque missions to loot the rich and help the poor. Sanya has an emotional backstory in the film and is also seen doing hardcore stunts in the Atlee film. As Jawan has taken a humongous opening at the box office, the actress is thrilled and excited.
She did an Ask Me Anything session on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, September 10, in which she answered questions posed by her fans and followers on the Meta-owned platform. One of the netizens asked her to pick between Dangal and Jawan as they asked, "Jawan or Dangal...select one?". The Kathal actress gave an amusing answer as she posted a boomerang clip of signalling 'I can't' with her finger.
The actress is paired opposite Angad Bedi in her next film Mrs., which is the official Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed 2021 Malayalam drama The Great Indian Kitchen starring Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film is directed by Arati Kadav of Cargo fame and produced by Harman Baweja.
Sanya also has another film lined up for release this year. She will be seen portraying Siloo Manekshaw, wife of India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, whose role is being played by Vicky Kaushal. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is slated to release in cinemas on December 1 and will clash with Ranbir Kapoor's gangster crime drama Animal.
