Our hiring app’s cheaper than consultants: Arun Kumar

Xenture Technologies’s founder, CEO Arun Kumar talks to Ateeq Shaikh about its job seeking application Trabaajo that one can use from the convenience of either home or office. Two  months ago, the mobile app went live after series of testing. And now, it also has a web version; iOS version is about to be launched.

What is Xenture Technologies all about?

Every product that will come out from Xenture will either be an application or a software aimed at solving a large problem and making it more user friendly. The first product that we have come out with is Trabaajo, which is a job seeking application. So, sitting at home I can apply for the companies I am eligible for through my mobile alone. Why eligible? Because once you go through the profile, you have to go for an aptitude test. We are also helping in effective sourcing as it is a big concern in corporates right now; they hire in bulk, and when some employees leave and they again have to hire. So, the recruitment costs go high for them. So, we help with the right aptitude and right skill-set as they will not have to waste  money and time by calling them to office, interviewing them and later telling them they do not fit the description. The HR department can go through resumes, experience letters, certificates, pay slips of previous companies, etc. These documents go through a third party verification and even that is attached to the profile. So, it becomes a one-stop solution for recruitment.

What about seed capital?

Primary investors are a part of the board. But in the future, we will be looking at raising funds. Right now, the technology has been developed and we are looking at expansion.

Expansion of the same app or some other app?

In Trabaajo there are jobs ranging from fork lift drivers, housekeepers, facility management to hiring a next CEO, whichever vertical you think of. Plus, this is global, so sitting here in India I can apply for a job in US, if I am eligible.

How many companies have you tied up with?

There are 23 companies. Half of them have helped in testing phase. That’s how we have come up with phase 2, 3 and 4 of the application. In the last phase what we look to achieve is the only interface between the company and candidate, irrespective of geography, domain and position.

For which sector did you see maximum interviews?

BPOs have the highest attrition rate. Followed by retailing as lot of sales people are required. For every 5 people, 2 are looking for sales. So marketing and sales are going high.

What about revenue stream?

My pricing is such that if you want to do a call, and it is for 10 minutes, you pay Rs 300: Rs 30 per minute, irrespective of what position you hire. Consultancy firms charge more. If its a job portal, annual subscription charge is around Rs 5-6 lakh a year. Here, we have video calls after going through candidate’s profile. It’s like a virtual face to face interview.
