The much-talked-about Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani’s wedding was held on July 12. This is followed by the Shubh Aashirwad on 13th July, where the couple receives blessings from guests, and this is finally followed by the Mangal Utsav, a grand reception on July 14.
The guest list includes renowned names from Bollywood, international icons such as Kim Kardashian, John Cena, and Adele, along with politicians and sports personalities.
Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s wealthiest man, and his wife Nita Ambani have left no expense in celebrating their youngest son’s wedding.
The festivities began with a grand three-day pre-wedding bash in Jamnagar in March, where performances by Rihanna, Akon, and Diljit Dosanjh amplified the show. The event also featured global elite, including billionaires like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. Thereafter, a lavish cruise from Italy to France in June featured performances by Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys.
Then, during the sangeet ceremony on 5th July, pop sensation Justin Bieber featured in the evening’s festivities, followed by amazing performances from rappers Badshah and Karan Aujila.
Budget of wedding
With a massive array of pre-wedding events totalling eleven, coupled with whopping fees paid to global stars, the Ambani family has undoubtedly spent a staggering amount. Reports from LiveMint, The Economic Times, and Outlook Business estimate that the celebrations have cost approximately Rs 5,000 crore. This cost beats the costs of lavish weddings like Princess Diana and Prince Charles’s at Rs 1,361 crore and Sheikha Hind Bint bin Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s at Rs 1,144 crore, making it one of the most expensive weddings globally.
Notable expenditures include Rs 74 crore paid to Rihanna for her performance at the Jamnagar pre-wedding festivities, and Justin Bieber’s whopping fee of Rs 83 crore for his sangeet performance. The Daily Mail also reports that Rs 2500 crore was allocated solely to the pre-wedding events, covering expenses such as the luxurious Celebrity cruise liner, private jets, and security measures.
This spending is a proof to the Ambani family’s commitment to hosting the grandest celebrations ever.
