The Supreme Court, which on Tuesday began a hearing in the high-profile gas supply dispute between the billionaire Ambani brothers, will continue to hear the case on Wednesday, a lawyer for one of the firms said.

Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries, India's top conglomerate, and Reliance Natural Resources, led by younger brother Anil Ambani-led, are fighting over terms of a deal to sell natural gas to Reliance Natural at a rate below the price set by the government.

The court will continue hearing the case at 10:30am (0500 GMT) on Wednesday, Reliance Industries counsel Harish Salve told reporters.

The deal is part of a private family settlement under which the Reliance empire was split between the brothers in 2005, following the death of their father.
