The green jersey has been a part of RCB's attire since 2011. RCB has been continuing this practice since 2011 to promote their “Go Green” initiative. They dress in green to spread the message of environmental conservation.
The “Go Green” initiative is a move to create awareness about global warming. The Bengaluru-based franchise has also taken initiatives to plant trees. They have also asked their fans to travel by buses to save fuel.
During the 2016 edition, RCB players reached the stadium on cycle while CNG rikshaws were arranged for fans to reach the stadium to promote the “Go Green” initiative.
While RCB have always been one of the strongest teams in IPL, they have never won the title in previous ten editions.

Leg-spinner Gopal, who plays Ranji Trophy for Karnataka, then silenced his 'home crowd' knocking out AB de Villiers, whose poorly executed pull-shot was snapped by Jaydev Unadkat at deep square leg.
Washington Sundar (35 off 19 balls) and Mandeep Singh (47 no off 25 balls) added 66 runs for the fifth wicket but they were left with an uphill task as the asking rate kept on mounting.
