Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who have always been one of the entertaining sides to watch in the Indian Premier League. Cricket and Kolkata share a special bond, especially with Sourav Ganguly - former KKR skipper - having captained Team India to numerous honours during his playing days. After an average first four seasons under "Dada", Gautam Gambhir's arrival sparked a renaissance as he helped the Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. However, since his departure, KKR once again found themselves in the middle of the table.

Going into IPL 2020, Dinesh Karthik will be hoping to find the right blend between youth and experience to find success. Karthik already has Indian prospects like Shubman Gill, Prasidh Krishna, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, etc at his disposal. With the recent arrival of Eoin Morgan and Pat Cummins, KKR will now have some much-needed balance in the other key departments as well. Fan favourites Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are in top form in CPL 2020 and they will be favorites to once again replicate their 2019 form.

The franchise roped in Dr Srikanth Narayanaswamy as the Team Physician. He, along with Kamlesh Jain, team's Head Physio, and Chris Donaldson, the strength and conditioning coach, will be looking after the squad.

Initially scheduled to start in March, the 2020 edition of the IPL was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the 13th edition of the IPL will be played from September 19 to November 10, across three venues in the UAE -- Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai.

Kolkata Knight Riders Indian player to watch out for

Shubman Gill will be the one to watch out for in the Kolkata Knight Riders side as he will be looking to showcase his talent in the UAE heat after a successful 2018 Under-19 World Cup and domestic season. The 20-year-old made a very good impression last year and will be eyeing to pin down his position with Robin Uthappa now gone. Gill's talent has been back by the KKR head coach McCullum as well going into IPL 2020, who also wants to hand the young batter some leadership role as well.

Kolkata Knight Riders overseas player to watch out for

Many may come and go but there will always be one Andre Russell. The strong West Indian allrounder has been a key member of the KKR side ever since his arrival from Delhi Daredevils. In numerous occasions, Russell's muscles have come to his side's rescue. However, injuries have hampered Russell's in cricket over the past few years now so it will be key for skipper Karthik to find a way to keep his Windies powerhouse fit for the entire campaign.
