In a bid to finally end their ICC trophy droughts, India and South Africa are set to face off in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue have not tasted ICC glory since 2013, when they emerged victorious in the ICC Champions Trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

South Africa, on the other hand, have not clinched an ICC title since their triumph in the 1998 ICC Knockout Trophy held in Bangladesh. Surprisingly, they have never made it to the final of a World Cup in any format. The upcoming clash against India will mark their first appearance in a World Cup final.

While India may be considered the favorites heading into the final, South Africa is a formidable opponent in their own right. The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 PM IST in Barbados, with fans keeping a close eye on the weather forecast. There is a possibility of rain during the game, which could potentially lead to a shortened match.

Fortunately, there is a reserve day allocated for the fixture, although organizers are determined to complete the game on the scheduled day if possible. If a 10-over match cannot be played on the original day, the game will be moved to the reserve day. In the event that no play is possible on the reserve day as well, the trophy will be shared between India and South Africa, with both teams being declared joint winners.

This scenario has occurred before, as in 2002 when India and Sri Lanka shared the Champions Trophy after the final was washed out. Despite efforts to complete the match on the reserve day, the overs could not be finished, resulting in a shared trophy.
