Delhi: Truck carrying chemical hits car parked outside showroom

A speeding truck carrying chemical lost control and hit a brand new car outside a showroom on the Ring Road in the Raja Garden area late on Saturday night. A watchman working at the showroom reportedly got minor injuries in the accident.

According to the eyewitnesses, the truck was hit by another truck from behind because of which it lost its balance and made way to a Mercedes Benz showroom nearby. During the accident, the chemical carried in the truck spilled on the road and it damaged a brand new car parked outside the showroom.

"The truck was carrying chemical from Alwar to Bawana. The fire brigade was called to the spot after the accident and the chemical was cleaned. The truck driver was also held by the police. However, the other truck involved in the accident managed to flee from the spot", said a senior police official.

Meanwhile, the injured guard is reportedly out of danger and is now undergoing treatment at a hospital now. "No case has been registered yet. We are scanning footages of the CCTV cameras installed on the route to identify the other truck involved in the accident", added another senior police official investigating the case.
