Now the committee members are planning to strike off his 20-year-old membership of the Delhi Medical Association.
For the past one year, the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) has been on the lookout for a fake doctor, against whom a complaint was filed over a year ago. This doctor, one of the top in the city, who has received certificates of excellence from former Prime Ministers of India, has been shying away to show his credentials to the Delhi Medical Council. Now the committee members are planning to strike off his 20-year-old membership of the Delhi Medical Association.
“We received a complaint against Dr SM Kazim over a year ago. After some background check, we called him to the office to check his credentials. He only brought his award certificates with him, but no Medical Council of India (MCI) registration number. When we asked him to show his documents, he promised to return a day later. Next day, we received a text that he his travelling to Russia. Now, six months later, we have not heard from him and his Daryaganj clinic has been closed since,” said Dr Anil Bansal, Chairman, Anti-Quackery Cell, Delhi Medical Association.
The doctor does not have any DMC or MCI registration number on his prescription which is mandatory for every MBBS doctor. There have been attempts made to raid the doctor’s clinic in Daryaganj which is always found close. “Dr. Syed Musi Kazim is a veteran physician from New Delhi with almost three decades of experience. His areas of specialisation are Internal Medicine & Cardiology, Chronic Diseases, and Diabetes. During his illustrious career, Dr. Syed Musi Kazim has received various prestigious awards such as Rashtriya Ekta Puraskar by Chief Minister of Delhi, Certificate of Excellence by Health Minister of Government of India, and Fakra-E-Hind award which he received from former Prime Minister of India. His list of awards also includes Vishist Chikitsak Award, National Solidarity Award and Excellence in Medicine” states his website.
