People who achieve staggering success after conquering extreme adversities have the most inspiring and heartwarming stories. One such motivational life story is of IPS Premsukh Delu who went from being a village boy who grazed cattle to becoming an IPS officer.
Premsukh Delu, born on 3rd April 1988, hails from a farmers’s family in the small village of Raisar in Nokha Tehsil, Bikaner district, Rajasthan. His father also used to drive camel carts and transport farming equipment.
Despite battling financial hardships, Premsukh aspired to secure a government job to lift his family out of poverty.
He balanced cattle grazing along with studying during his childhood. His family's humble background, with his parents, being educated in government schools and his elder sister never going to school, uplifted his determination and grit.
Through his unflinching hard work, Premsukh got 12 government jobs within six years. He was initially posted as a Patwari in the Bikaner, but he aspired more bigger achievements, thus, he took other competitive exams.
Then, he secured second rank in the Gram Sevak Examination conducted by Rajasthan State. Despite being chosen as a Sub Inspector at Rajasthan Police, he didn’t take it and instead preferred the role of Assistant Jailor after cracking the Rajasthan Assistant Prison Examination. After rejecting the role of a Tehsildar and college lecturer, he later worked at the education department as a school lecturer.
However, he was adamant on achieving bigger things, thus, he began preparing for the UPSC exams and cracked the exam in the second attempt with AIR 170 in 2015 and finally became an IPS.
Delu was allocated the Gujarat cadre and was initially posted as ACP in Amreli, Gujarat.Presently, he is posted as Superintendent of Police Jamnagar.
Thus, IPS Prem Sukh Delu’s story is a testament of success and unflinching hard work and determination.
