On the second Saturday, Kalki 2898 AD showed a jump of 100% and the movie will soon cross the Rs 800-crore mark worldwide.
Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin's latest directorial continues to roar at the box office. On day 10, the film showed a 100% jump in the collection. As per the industry tracker portal, Sacnilk, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone-starrer is racing towards the Rs 800-crore mark worldwide.
According to Sacnilk, On the second Saturday, Kalki 2898 AD grossed Rs 34.15 crores (which includes Rs 11.20 crore from Telugu, Rs 18 crore from Hindi, Rs 3 crore from Tamil, Rs 1.50 crore from Malayalam and Rs 45 lakhs from Kannada languages). When it comes to worldwide collection, the movie has grossed 759 crores. Sunday is also expected to add good numbers to the total numbers, taking it closer to the Rs 800-crore mark.
As per the production, the film has grossed Rs 800-crore mark already. On Friday, trade analyst Ramesh Bala announced that Kalki has grossed Rs 800 crore worldwide.
Nag Ashwin on Kalki comparison with Mad Max
In an interview with Times Now, Nag Ashwin opened up on Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Kalk 2898 AD's chase scene's comparison to Mad Max and said, "It wasn’t a very conscious thing. I definitely love Mad Max, but I would say this particular chase scene in some form or the other was written a while back. But I think it’s also a setting. Like, as soon as you put a truck in a desert, it’s going to look like Mad Max.”
Helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in key roles. The film also had several cameos of stars like Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli, and Mrunal Thakur. The filmmaker has also revealed that the film's second part will see more of Kamal Haasan and the fans are excited for it.
