The National Award-winning actor Prakash Raj often lands himself in controversies for raising his voice against the ruling party and the incumebnt PM Narendra Modi. And on Sunday, August 20, the actor once again shared a conroversial tweet seemingly mocking ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 mission ahead of its expected landing date on Moon on August 23.

Sharing a caricature of a brown man wearing a shirt and a lungi and pouring tea in his both cups on X (previously known as Twitter), Prakash Raj wrote, "BREAKING NEWS:- First picture coming from the Moon by #VikramLander Wowww #justasking". Netizens slammed the actor and asked him to keep ISRO aside from his political views against the ruling party.

One netizen replied, "The problem with hate is, once you start hating someone then eventually your hate becomes so strong that you start hating everyone. You forgot the difference between the person, ideology and national achievement. Everything looks the same! Sad to see a talented actor behaving like this!".

"Prakash ji, this Chandryan mission is from ISRO not BJP. If it gets succeed, it’s for India not for any party. Why you want this mission to fail? BJP is just a ruling party. It will go one day. But, ISRO will remain for years and will make us proud. In search of truth, you’re forgetting basic nationalism. India’s failure shouldn’t be a victory. Keep ISRO aside from this political hate", read another comment.

However, some netizens also came in the actor's support sharing that the omnipresence of Malayali people is an old joke in Kerala. Defending Raj, one X user tweeted, "Why is it so difficult for people to understand a joke. It's a joke that goes around saying when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon he saw a malayali man selling chai there asking if anyone needs a chai. It's time say Malayalis are everywhere. Indias sense of humor is kaput."

"This is a classic example of how different the South and North are. Almost all South Indians will understand this picture. It's a funny way of teasing a Malayali about them reaching anywhere in the world before the rest of Indians", read another comment.

Prakash Raj has been a part of multiple blockbusters this year including Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu, Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2.
