Jammu and Kashmir BJP has said that autonomy and self-rule can have no place in the state given its dependence on government of India for finances and other resources.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP has said that autonomy or self-rule can have no place in the state given its dependence on government of India for finances and other resources.
"The BJP being a responsible national party and representative of a huge segment of population of J&K stresses that autonomy will only worsen the condition of the common man and would be of no help in the improvement of his quality of life," a memorandum submitted here yesterday to the governor NN Vohra by a delegation of BJP leaders, including eight MLAs, said.
"The BJP totally and completely rejects all such proposals or moves which weaken or tend to weaken the bonds of J&K with rest of the country and under no circumstances would allow weakening or dilution of sovereignty of India," the delegation headed by its state chief Shamsher Singh Manhas said.
The memorandum also termed the report of working group on "strengthening centre-state relations" headed by justice (retd) Sagir Ahmed as "biased and unbalanced" since it has completely ignored the viewpoint of all those forces, people, institutions, political parties and social activists who are votaries of complete and full integration of J&K with rest of the country.
