The dissatisfaction and undercurrent among Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers came out in the open on Sunday after Sanjay Joshi visited Silvassa the place. Saffron workers seemed more attached to Joshi and accompanied him till he boarded the train at Vapi. Many RSS workers and leaders also were seen to be highly impressed with Joshi.

Joshi’s visit to South Gujarat exposed the growing anger against the current state government among BJP and RSS ranks. This was evident from the slogans that ranted the air around town-hall and Vapi railway station. Sangh and BJP leaders not only held long meetings with Joshi, but also sought guidance from him for the coming assembly elections.

“Sanjay Joshi is a person, who has given all his life to bring BJP’s rule in Gujarat. Whatever BJP is in Gujarat today, it is because of the continuous efforts by people like Joshi. How can BJP and Sangh forget efforts made by Joshi for all these years?” asked Jayanti Kevat, national convener of BJP fishermen cell.

Kevat further stated that it is not Sangh or BJP’s ideology to forget a Prachaarak, who has played such a vital role in establishing its base in state or town. Acts against Joshi are planned and remote-controlled, he stated.

Joshi’s public appearance at Silvassa on Sunday proved to be tonic to all those BJP and Sangh workers, who are not satisfied with the current leadership. While Joshi toured Dharampur, Valsad and Silvassa on Sunday, many leaders and party workers expressed their pain before him. They expressed their desire to work for him and accept his orders.

“More than 60% BJP workers are unsatisfied with the current leadership. This is because workers are left with no work and are not given due respect by the party. Today workers are only reduced to gathering public for government programmes. They are just treated as labourers and not as party workers,” alleged a BJP leader from Valsad, on condition of anonymity.

According to the leader, there is uncertainty as to how many BJP workers will play active part in the coming assembly elections.

“We don’t want any position or post in the party or the BJP government, but want good treatment for those who have sacrificed everything for the party and the sangh. Joshi is, and always, be my good friend. He is also a source of information for me,” claimed Kamlesh Sailor, a BJP worker from Surat.
