To prevent government doctors from private practise, the Uttarakhand government has decided to allot 25% of their basic salary as non-practising allowance, officials said today.

The doctors would be benefited by Rs 1500 to 3000, they said adding the allowance would increase in the coming years in accordance with the salaries.

The decision comes following agitation by doctors for the same.
