CHENNAI: Nine-year-old Kishan Shrikanth, who has staked claim for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest feature film director, on Monday started work on the Tamil version of his tri-lingual movie.

Kishan, who hails from Bangalore, was here at the AVM studios to shoot the opening shot of his movie 'Saadhanai C/o Platform' ('Achievement C/o Platform').

Kishan, himself plays the lead role of a slum-dweller, who rises against all odds and appears for matriculation examinations at the age of 10.

Kishan, the elder son of Shrikanth, a Commercial Taxes officer and Shailaja, a Kannada film and music director, had initially penned a short story in Kannada, based on a boy from the slums.

A few months down the lane, Kishan has finished directing the Kannada version of his two hour-ten minutes long feature film and has started work on both its Hindi and Tamil versions.

"The cast remains the same in all three movies, with me as the hero and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff playing the role of a Chief Minister," Kishan said.

B S Shriramulu and G Shanmugham, the producers of the Tamil movie have full confidence in Kishan. Shanmugham said they had seen him shooting the Kannada movie and had realised the amount of professionalism and enterprise he showed while making it.

Kishan was all praise for 15-year-old Shrivatsav Dattatreya,  who gave the background score for the film. He is the son of Ravi Dattatreya, a California-based musician, who is also the music director of the film.

"Saadhanai' is set to hit the cinema halls this June. But after that I am going to enroll myself in an Animation Training School to learn 3D animation. One college in Bangalore has agreed to admit me at the age of 10. I will prefer being called a Graphic Engineer cum Cinematographer," he said.
