Ali Zafar, Prince Of Pop as he is fondly known in Pakistan, is currently shuttling between India and Pakistan. The singer-turned-actor is doing his bit to raise funds for people who have been displaced because of the floods in Pakistan. “I am trying my bit to give back to the country in any way possible. I started out being a musician and what better way to raise funds for the displaced people than have a musical concert?”

A series of concerts will take place in Pakistan and a few shows are lined up for abroad as well. The actor has been trying to get Bono and Sting to be a part of this concert but it doesn’t seem to be happening. “I have spoken to Bono but I doubt if they will be able to come. Bono has some health issues but I am keeping my fingers crossed.”

The actor who shot to fame with his first album Huqa Pani is thrilled of coming out with his third album by the end of this year. Ali is also looking forward to concentrating on his acting career. Besides having signed a Yash Raj film with Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan, he is also looking at a few other interesting projects. Ask him who he would like to pair up with amongst the actresses and the actor nonchalantly says, “I would love to work with Shabana Azmi. She is such a natural artiste and working with her would be such a pleasure.”

Quiz him about the match-fixing scandals that rocked the country last week and he plays it cool. “I block all negativity out of my life.” After a little bit of probing, he relents and gives in. “The entire episode is very disappointing and I wish it hadn’t happened,”  he signs off.
