Match over
0.1 : 0.1: T Boult to Tom Banton, FOUR! Banton is off the mark in style! Ideal start for England. However, encouraging signs for Boult too as he got that to move a long way. He starts it wrong though, on middle, it shapes back into the pads. Tom tickles it fine down the leg side and bags a boundary.
2.4 : 2.4: T Boult to J Bairstow, FOUR! Something had to give, out comes the big shot and Bairstow gets the desired result. It is fuller and on middle, Jonny clears his front leg and lofts it over mid on and bags a boundary. Releases the pressure that was building.
3.1 : 3.1: M Santner to J Bairstow, OUT! In the air... taken! Oh no Jonny, what have you done there? That is a nothing delivery, you could have hit it anywhere but you end up hitting it straight to the fielder at deep mid-wicket. Bairstow himself can't believe it as he looks down in disappointment. New Zealand won't care though as they have drawn first blood. The bowling change works wonders. It is a short delivery. A loosener, Bairstow goes back and looks to pull but gets it on the higher part of the
4.2 : 4.2: Tim Southee to Tom Banton, FOUR! Well, this one is a half volley. It is outside off. Banton waits for it and then caresses it through covers. No one is going to stop that. Welcome boundary for England.
4.5 : 4.5: Tim Southee to D Malan, FOUR! Second boundary in the over! This is a gift! A full toss outside off, Malan reaches out for it and hits it through covers. No one in the deep this time and a boundary. This is turning out to be a good over for England, a much-needed one.
5.2 : 5.2: B Tickner to Tom Banton, FOUR! Easy-peasy! Runs starting to come now. This is on the pads, Banton tickles it away nice and fine on the leg side and it races away to the fence.
5.4 : 5.4: B Tickner to Tom Banton, FOUR! Excellent pick-up shot! One thing is for sure, this guy loves deliveries on his pads. This is there once again, he whips it over backward square leg and a boundary results. This is turning out to be another good over for England.
5.5 : 5.5: B Tickner to Tom Banton, SIX! Banton has no problems with the short balls too. Tickner bangs this one short, changes the length to surprise the batter. Banton is up for it, he rocks back and sends it sailing over the mid-wicket fence with a pull shot. This is turning out to be a huge over with a ball to go.
6.5: Ish Sodhi to D Malan, FOUR! Nice shot. Flighted delivery on middle, Malan plays a reverse sweep through point for a boundary.
7.2 : 7.2: M Santner to Tom Banton, OUT! It is not very close, it is three reds and Banton has to take the long walk back. His entertaining knock comes to an end. Excellent review from New Zealand and timely wicket for them as the two started to score runs quite easily now. Santner once again proves to be the man for the Kiwis. His second wicket. Banton looks to play the reverse sweep to the ball which is pitched around off. He misses and is hit above the pads. An appeal but not given. The hosts revie
8.2: Ish Sodhi to E Morgan, SIX! All the way! This time Sodhi does not get away with it. One more short ball on middle, Morgan watches the ball closely. Goes back and pulls it way back into the mid-wicket stand.
9.2: B Tickner to D Malan, FOUR! Up and over! Strong shot. A cross-seam delivery. It is on a length and outside off. Malan heaves it over the mid on fielder and bags a boundary.

10.2 : 10.2: M Santner to D Malan, SIX! Nailed! That made a cracking sound of the bat. Malan goes down on one knee, plays the slog sweep. Minimal risk in the host as it is with the turn. He clears the mid-wicket fence with ease. Runs flowing now.
10.3 : 10.3: M Santner to D Malan, FOUR! Crunched! This is another huge over! Santner goes wide and full outside off. Malan smashes it over covers and that gets to the fence in a jiffy.
10.5 : 10.5: M Santner to E Morgan, SIX! Raining boundaries here! Morgan now gets into the act. This is full and outside off again. Morgan lofts it over covers. There is a fielder in the deep but it is wide of him and also it crosses the ropes as it is the shorter side.
11.1 : 11.1: T Boult to E Morgan, FOUR! England on the charge. Short and outside off, Morgan looks to cut but gets an outside edge. It goes over third man for a boundary. This is agressive batting from England here.
11.6 : 11.6: T Boult to E Morgan, FOUR! Good shot. Full delivery on middle, Morgan lofts it over mid on for a boundary. 12 runs have come from the over.
12.5 : 12.5: B Tickner to D Malan, FOUR! Right off the middle! This is in the slot. Full and outside off, Malan stays leg side of the delivery and just lofts it over covers for a boundary.
13.1 : 13.1: Tim Southee to D Malan, FOUR! Malan is hitting everything off the middle. Fifty up for him. His fine form in this series continues. Another delivery in the slot for him. Full and outside off, Malan hammers it over the cover fielder and bags a boundary. He will be eyeing a big one now, still quite a few overs to go.
13.3 : 13.3: Tim Southee to E Morgan, FOUR! Make that 11 from the first three balls! Full and outside off, Morgan drags it past Southee who tried to stop it with his feet. It goes down to the long on fence.
13.4 : 13.4: Tim Southee to E Morgan, FOUR! 15 from the over! Deft! Brings up his fifty with a delicate shot. A destructive innings from the England skipper. If he stays out there, 220 will be possible. This is shorter and outside off, Morgan waits for it and then just guides it behind point. It races away.
13.6 : 13.6: Tim Southee to D Malan, FOUR! Another huge over for England! It is complete carnage at the moment. The bowling is also not that great. Southee bowls a full toss outside off, Malan lofts it over covers and the ball races away to the fence.
15.4 : 15.4: B Tickner to E Morgan, FOUR! Nice shot. Full delivery on middle, Morgan lofts it over the bowler's head for a boundary.
16.1 : 16.1: Ish Sodhi to D Malan, FOUR! Nice shot. Flighted delivery on middle, Malan plays a reverse sweep towards third man for a boundary.
16.2 : 16.2: Ish Sodhi to D Malan, SIX! Tossed up delivery on middle, Malan plays a sweep over square leg for a maximum.
16.3 : 16.3: Ish Sodhi to D Malan, SIX! Flighted delivery on off, Malan comes down the track and lofts it over covers for a boundary.
16.4 : 16.4: Ish Sodhi to D Malan, FOUR! Bowl wherever, it is going to be hit for a boundary. 4,6,6,4 in this over so far. This time Malan innovates, out comes the reverse sweep, he pierces the gap between point and backward point and bags another boundary.
16.5 : 16.5: Ish Sodhi to D Malan, SIX! 4,6,6,4,6! Sodhi is just clueless at the moment about where to bowl. This though is just over the fence. The slog sweep this time, it is with the turn and it clears the mid-wicket fence.
17.2 : 17.2: T Boult to D Malan, SIX! He is seeing it like a football out there! Another biggie for Malan. He is into the 90s. A slower one on off, Malan drags it towards mid-wicket. He has hit that well enough to clear the longer part of the ground.
17.6 : 17.6: T Boult to D Malan, SIX! 100 for Malan! Take a bow. His maiden T20I century. What a knock this has been. Exceptional power-hitting. He gets there in style! Yes, he gets a freebie but it still needs to be hit. It is a knee high full toss. Malan swings and sends it into the mid-wicket stands. A huge round of applause for him, he takes his helmet off and soaks in the applause. Also, this is fastest ton by an English player in T20Is.
18.2 : 18.2: D Mitchell to E Morgan, SIX! That is huge! Full delivery outside off, Morgan lofts it over long off for a biggie.
18.3 : 18.3: D Mitchell to E Morgan, SIX! Second maximum of the over. On a length on middle, Morgan plays a slog sweep over square leg for a maximum.
18.5 : 18.5: D Mitchell to E Morgan, SIX! Third maximum of the over. Full delivery on middle, Morgan plays a slog sweep over long on for a maximum.
18.6 : 18.6: D Mitchell to E Morgan, FOUR! Nice shot. Full delivery again on middle, Morgan flicks it through mid-wicket for a boundary. 25 runs have come from the over.
19.3 : 19.3: Tim Southee to E Morgan, SIX! Morgan is into the 90s now. 91 to be precise with three balls to go. Southee fails to get the yorker right. He ends up bowling a full toss which Morgan hits over the square leg fence.
19.4 : 19.4: Tim Southee to E Morgan, OUT! In the air... taken! End of a magnificent innings by Morgan and an even better partnership with Malan. This was something special by the English skipper. He falls 9 short of a ton but that was surely not in his mind. Southee bowls a low full toss outside off, not easy to hit those. He ends up miscuing it towards cover where Mitchell takes a good sliding catch running forward.
0.5 : 0.5: Sam Curran to C Munro, FOUR! Colin Munro is off the mark with a boundary! Unlike Guptill, he does not go to hit it too hard. He waits for the ball to come to him and then just flicks it fine on the leg side for a boundary.
1.3 : 1.3: Tom Curran to C Munro, FOUR! Poor delivery from Tom Curran. Short delivery on leg, Munro pulls it towards fine leg for a boundary.
2.1 : 2.1: Sam Curran to M Guptill, SIX! First for Guptill and New Zealand will hope that gets him going. A short one on middle, Guptill watches it closely and pulls it over the square leg stand. The key here was, he did not go to hit the ball too hard.
2.4 : 2.4: Sam Curran to C Munro, FOUR! New Zealand on the charge here! A six earlier on in the over and now a boundary, Munro comes down the track and gets to the pitch of the ball. He lofts it over mid on and bags a boundary.
3.3 : 3.3: C Jordan to M Guptill, SIX! Powered! New Zealand are getting the boundary they need every over now. A short one on middle, Guptill picks the length early and sends it sailing over the mid-wicket fence.
3.4 : 3.4: C Jordan to M Guptill, SIX! 'OH WOW' is what my colleague Arjun said when this shot was hit. Back-to-back maximums for Guptill. This time over the off side. Martin makes room and Jordan bowls it short again. Guptill cuts it uppishly and clears the fence.
4.2 : 4.2: Tom Curran to M Guptill, FOUR! Dragged! A slower one outside off, it is shorter in length. Guptill is a touch early in his shot. He ends up dragging it over mid-wicket for a boundary.
4.3 : 4.3: Tom Curran to M Guptill, OUT! CAUGHT! The quickfire opening stand has been cut short. Tom Curran draws first blood and it is completely against the run of play. A low full toss on leg pole, difficult for Guptill to get under it. He flicks it but straight to the man at mid-wicket where Malan takes an easy catch. Can't keep DM out of the game. 188 more needed.
5.5 : 5.5: C Jordan to Tim Seifert, OUT! CAUGHT! Length delivery on leg, Seifert looks to flick but he went too early into the shot. He gets a leading edge and goes high in the air. It goes towards Tom Curran who takes a comfortable catch. England get their second wicket.
6.4 : 6.4: M Parkinson to de Grandhomme, SIX! That is huge! Colin de Grandhomme comes down the track now, gets to the pitch of it and tonks it over the long off fence.
6.5 : 6.5: M Parkinson to de Grandhomme, OUT! In the air... taken! Parkinson has the last laugh. Excellent courage shown by him. He tosses up another delivery, this time though it is slightly behind the length it was on the last ball. De Grandhomme makes use of his feet again but does not get to the pitch of the ball. He still looks to clear the mid-wicket fence but only gets more height on the shot. Banton does really well to judge it to take it. This chase now looks improbable.
6.6 : 6.6: M Parkinson to C Munro, OUT! Straight down the throat of the fielder! The set Munro is out of here. Was this shot needed after a wicket fell on the previous delivery? Well, if you look at the target, they have to on every ball. Munro looks to do exactly that. He brings out the slog sweep but Parkinson bowls it nicely and slow outside off. He does not get enough power behind the shot and it goes straight to Brown at deep mid-wicket. Two wickets in two balls for Parkinson. Excellent first ove
8.3 : 8.3: M Parkinson to D Mitchell, OUT! Mitchell holes out! Three-fer for Parkinson in the 9 balls he has bowled. Another batter beaten in flight. Mitchell uses his feet and Parkinson tosses it up. Mitchell is done in by the dip, he looks to go big but only hits it high up in the air. Jordon at long off runs to his right and takes it with ease.
8.4 : 8.4: M Parkinson to R Taylor, SIX! Flat! That was some hit by Taylor. New Zealand need a lot more. Out comes the slog sweep, Taylor hits it right off the middle and over the mid-wicket fence.
9.4: Pat Brown to R Taylor, OUT! CAUGHT! New Zealand lose their sixth wicket. On a length on middle, Taylor flicks it over mid-wicket but does not get the distance on it. It goes towards Tom Banton who takes a good catch in the deep.
10.1 : 10.1: M Parkinson to Tim Southee, SIX! Amazing shot. Flighted delivery on middle, Southee plays a slog sweep over mid-wicket for a maximum.
10.2 : 10.2: M Parkinson to Tim Southee, SIX! Good shot. Tossed up delivery on middle, Southee plays again a slog sweep over mid-wicket for a biggie.
10.6 : 10.6: M Parkinson to Tim Southee, FOUR! Flighted delivery on middle, Southee plays a slog sweep over square leg. The fielder in the deep tries to stop it but it goes through him for a boundary. 18 runs have come from the over.
11.3 : 11.3: Pat Brown to Tim Southee, SIX! Into the crowd! Shorter and on middle, Southee pulls it and over the square leg fence.
11.6 : 11.6: Pat Brown to M Santner, FOUR! Full toss and put away! It is on middle, Santner hits it down towards the long on fence for a boundary.
12.1 : 12.1: M Parkinson to Tim Southee, SIX! Southee is dealing in biggies! A shorter one on middle, Southee goes back and pulls it into the mid-wicket stands.
12.3 : 12.3: M Parkinson to Tim Southee, JUST SHORT AND FOUR! This is frustrating for Parkinson. A dropped catch in the last over and now this one falls short. Shorter and on middle, Southee hits it uppishly towards long on who runs in, dives forward to take that catch but the ball lands short, goes past him and goes for a boundary.
12.5 : 12.5: M Parkinson to Tim Southee, OUT! Three reds and Southee needs to continue his walk back. He actually is already off the field even before he was given out by the third umpire. 4-fer for Parkinson and he has one ball to get a fifer. He bowls a flighted ball on middle, Southee shuffles across and looks to play the slog sweep but misses to get hit on the pads. An appeal and up goes the finger. Southee reviews. Replays roll in and it shows that the on-field call is the right one. New Zealand l
13.6 : 13.6: Sam Curran to M Santner, OUT! CAUGHT! Short of a length delivery, Santner looks to pull but gets an edge. It goes towards the keeper where Sam Billings takes a simple catch. New Zealand lose their 8th wicket.
14.1 : 14.1: Tom Curran to Ish Sodhi, SIX! The biggies continue to be hit! A slower one on middle, Sodhi drags it over the square leg fence for a biggie. 150 up for the Kiwis.
15.1: Sam Curran to T Boult, OUT! He is just short! The dive does not save him. A full ball is hit towards mid off by Boult. Sodhi wants strike so he rushes off. Boult sends him back. Sodhi turns and looks to get back in with a dive but Jordan hits bull's eye at the bowler's end. An appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Sodhi is short. England a wicket away now from leveling the series.
16.4 : 16.4: C Jordan to T Boult, FOUR! Short delivery, Boult looks to pull but gets a top edge. It goes over the keeper's head towards third man for a boundary.
16.5 : 16.5: C Jordan to T Boult, OUT! TIMBER! Bowls a yorker on middle, Boult looks to dig it out but misses it and gets bowled. ENGLAND WIN THE MATCH BY 76 RUNS!
