Leaders of various political parties held a series of election rallies in the city and district last night trying to end the campaign on a high note for the October 13 Maharashtra Assembly polls.

Prominent among those who addressed the voters were NCP president Sharad Pawar who accused the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance of adopting a "destructive and divisive" approach towards the society and undoing good work done by Congress-NCP Democratic Front.

"We are also proud Maharashtrains but we do not hate outsiders in the state", he said criticising the Saffron alliance and Raj Thackeray led MNS.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj told a rally that Congress which had given assurance to bring down prices, have ditched the "common man" with its failure to do so.

"Prices of petrol and diesel too were raised immediately after the last Lok Sabha election", she said, urging people to vote out Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra.
