Nine accused, including the notorious Sagir Kalva, have been acquitted of MCOCA charges in connection with a looting case at Malegaon.
 
Six year's ago, Kalva and his accomplices had entered the house of a powerloom owner Abdul Multib Abdul Sayeed and looted cash worth Rs40,000, gold ornaments and had also beaten up his family.
 
Following the incident, Kalva and eight others were arrested and offences were registered against them. Considering their criminal background, police had also imposed Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) charges on these accused.
 
All the nine accused were acquitted yesterday by a special court judge IB Shaikh.
