In a funny turn of events, a confusion in court led to the acquittal of a government servant and another accused slapped with corruption charges. Whether the man, who accompanied the officer accused of accepting bribe, had kept the money in his the pocket of his pant or shirt became the bone of contention for the prosecution.

The court held that there were a lot of discrepancies, and thus there wasn't sufficient proof to hold the accused guilty of the charges. The complainant himself was not keen enough to keep up his case against the accused clearly showed that the alleged accusation was not proved.

"In regard to acceptance of powdered notes by accused during trap proceedings, the testimony of complainant indicates that he had paid the powdered notes to accused which he had put it in his shirt pocket. While police witness says that the accused have accepted the powdered notes and put it into his right side Pant pocket. Therefore, there is also discrepancy in the ocular evidence regarding the acceptance of powdered notes by accused and putting it in his pocket either of Pant or Shirt. This creates doubt in the prosecution case about acceptance by accused of the powdered notes," the court said.
