Around 36% of voters had cast their ballots in the Pune district, which houses 21 assembly constituencies, by 3pm today, officials sources said.

Polling was largely peaceful in the city and district despite a couple of incidents reported last night in which around 13 persons have been arrested, officials said.

Police nabbed 11 persons in connection with a scuffle between some Shiv Sena and NCP workers in Ambegaon constituency last night in which rival activists pelted stones at each others vehicles near Bhimashankar.

Nobody was injured in the incident which had noting to do with polling today, district collector Chandrakant Dalvi told PTI.

In other incident which also happened last night in Hadapsar constituency, two persons  were arrested for allegedly damaging a car in the fleet of Congress candidate Balasaheb
Shivarkar, police said.

Bhandara district recorded 51.06% polling till 3pm today, official sources said here.

Similarly, Wardha recorded 41.14%, Chandrapur 44.99%, Buldana 44.49%, Amravati 44.05%, Wasim 37.05%, Yevatmal 41.50% and Akola recorded 37.53% of voting in Vidharbha region during Maharashtra assembly polls, they said.
