WWE Star Big Show aka Paul Wight joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The former WWE Champion was recently moved to the WWE's alumni section, however, Big Show decided to leave and join AEW.

The AEW made the shocking announcement earlier in the day that he made the switch and signed a multiyear contract with them.

The 7-footer also removed all references to WWE from his social media. Many believed that it meant he was done with wrestling, however, it all turned out to be false and he is actually gearing up for a restart.

According to the announcement, Paul Wight will serve as a commentator on AEW Dark: Elevation apart from performing in the ring.

“Wight will have an extensive role within AEW, and on top of his return to the ring, he will serve as a commentator on AEWs newest show, AEW Dark: Elevation.”

So why did Big Show leave WWE?

It appears that the 49-year old and WWE failed to come to an agreement on the new contract. According to PWInsider, both sides failed to come to terms on a new deal financially.

Wight was unhappy about the situation and WWE too did not make the departure public and quietly moved him to their Alumni section.

As for Wight, he spoke about his new workplace and said, "It’s been amazing to watch what AEW has built in just a couple of years. AEW Dark is an incredible platform to hone the skills of up-and-coming wrestlers, but I also love that established AEW talent can build out their personalities and showcase themselves in new ways on dark. It’s no exaggeration when they say that AEW is boundless."
