'Savdhaan India' actor arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch for robbing elderly couple

Mumbai Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested TV actor, Salman Jaffery on charges of robbing an elderly couple in Dehradun. He was arrested from Mumbai's Oshiwara.

Seen in several television serials such as 'Raja Shivchhatrapati', 'Savdhaan India' among others, Salman reportedly robbed the house of the elderly couple posing as a cop.

According to reports, the officials of the Mumbai Crime Branch had got information from Dehradun Police and then took action on the same.

Mumbai Crime Branch informed that he travelled via flights from Chandigarh-Dehradun to some cities of North India and finally got caught in Mumbai.

As per reports, Salman Jaffery has been primarily targeting the elderly in various parts of the country, namely in states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. 

As per various media reports, Salman initially denied all accusations levelled against him. However, after sustained questioning by the police, he confessed to having committed the crimes.
