Instead of doing the regular 'Throwback Thursday,' showrunners of Game of Thrones decided to brighten up everyone's day with a mega load of new images from the final season of the series.

HBO shared 13 new images from the show and gave the fandom first look at the surviving characters from the finale of season seven. Without wasting any more time, let's see if we can piece together what lies ahead when Game of Thrones' final season premiers on April 14, 2019.

1. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen: Return to Winterfell

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen: Return to Winterfell
1/14

This is the relationship that launched a thousand ships in so many directions. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) flew beyond the wall to save Jon Snow & Co from the Night King's army of the dead. She lost one of her dragon babies Viserys to the Night King. But she managed to save the King in the North and has initiated a relationship with him on their way back to Winterfell. The smiles on the duo's faces suggest that either Khaleesi is happy to see Jon's home or the regrouping with everyone else will bear the desired fruit. At least for the time being. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

2. Cersei Lannister: Gloomy Landing

Cersei Lannister: Gloomy Landing
2/14

Down South, from the looks of it, it seems that Cersei is reeling from the penultimate blow to her strength. To jog your memory, her brother/lover/Hand of the Queen, Jaime Lannister, abandoned her to face the impending winter in the North. Cersei has already lost a lot but the look on her face says she will not go down without a fight. Could it be when the Night King comes knocking, her fortress will become the last resort? (Helen Sloan/HBO)

3. Arya Stark: Needle Keeper

Arya Stark: Needle Keeper
3/14

Arya Stark is one of the toughest characters throughout all the seasons of Game of Thrones. One of the four Starks still alive. Her picture does not give away a lot. But her presence in Winterfell gives her an opportunity to scratch Melisandre, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, and Sandor "The Hound" Clegane (one more time) off her kill list in one go. Cersei Lannister will have to wait until they meet. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

4. Tyrion Lannister: Sansa Stark's husband

Tyrion Lannister: Sansa Stark's husband
4/14

If you recall, Tyrion Lannister wed Sansa Stark, a marriage never consummated. If you pay attention to the balcony he is standing on, it's the same one where Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish tried to poison Sansa's brain and where Sansa struck an alliance with sister Arya. So is it safe to assume that this is the place where he will have a heart to heart with Sansa after all these years? (Helen Sloan/HBO)

5. Sansa Stark: Fear of losing the throne?

Sansa Stark: Fear of losing the throne?
5/14

Sansa Stark learnt a lot under Cersei. Then she was mentored by Petyr Baelish. One cannot help but wonder if after ruling Winterfell in the absence of Jon Snow, Sansa has developed an affection for power. The look on her face in this image does not give away a lot. Just like her sister. But it is safe to assume that she will offer her wisdom in the fight against the Night King and, on the side, will look for a beneficial arrangement for herself.

The first teaser for the series finale put Stark kids in the ominous crypt. There may not be a happy ending for all of them. But that shouldn't stop them from playing this game. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

6. Daenerys Targaryen: Oblivious or Calculating?

Daenerys Targaryen: Oblivious or Calculating?
6/14

Daenerys Targaryen is probably the person most out of her league in the North. In the penultimate season, she moved swiftly to bring the Lannisters to their knees. But that was still close to the South where winter didn't bother interfering. Weather is going to be one of the biggest factors for her Dothraki Khalasar and Unsullied. She has already lost Viserys and is closing in with the Night King. Then there are the Stark sisters and Lords in the North whose reaction to the queen we are unsure of. So, is this a calculating look or just an adorable gaze at Jon Snow? (Helen Sloan/HBO)

7. Jon Snow: Still alive

Jon Snow: Still alive
7/14

Alive and back in Winterfell. Full circle one more time. Jon Snow will have to mediate and be tactile on home front vis a vis his sisters and his lover, Battlefront, and unite all those who can stand against the army of the dead.

This look says only one thing -- you still know nothing, Jon Snow. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

8. Cersei Lannister: Alone on the Throne

Cersei Lannister: Alone on the Throne
8/14

Apart from the mutiny from her own brother, Cersei also has to think about preparing her own army. She can take support from the Iron Bank because why not. Doomsday is nigh and one can get away without paying back. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

9. Jaime Lannister: The Free Agent

Jaime Lannister: The Free Agent
9/14

This is the smug face of someone who is finally free. Jaime looks like a free agent in NBA who is willing to play ball for the North, Winterfell just needs to accept his offer. Jaime, if he makes it to Winterfell, will reunite with Brienne of Tarth. While I am looking forward to this reunion, I am more excited about Tormund Giantsbane's reaction when he sees the friendship shared between Jaime and Brienne.

10. Brienne of Tarth: War Ready

Brienne of Tarth: War Ready
10/14

Brienne finally has the two of Catelyn Stark's daughters in her care. Her face here shows the determination of getting up front and facing the music as one of the warriors. So far, Brienne's journey has been of a protector. The finale could show us the warrior side of her. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

11. Bran Stark: It's All About Raven

Bran Stark: It's All About Raven
11/14

Bran Stark holds the key to one of the most important questions about Jon Snow's parents. In the season seven finale, we saw him watch the wedding of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. He is the only one who knows Jon's real name. He discusses these facts with Samwell Tarly who tells him about the annulment Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia Martell's marriage. Will this omnipresent being meddle and set a course for the true heir of Iron throne? If the fact unveiling happens, will it draw a wedge in the Jon-Dany relationship? Will it create more enemies for Jon or will it will unite everyone to rally behind their true king to take down the winter's creatures? (Helen Sloan/HBO)

12. Samwell Tarly: Beloved Librarian

Samwell Tarly: Beloved Librarian
12/14

Samwell Tarly is my favourite librarian in the Westeros. He knows everything. A perfect companion for Jon Snow, I'd say! (Helen Sloan/HBO)

13. Varys: Not In SpiderVerse Anymore

Varys: Not In SpiderVerse Anymore
13/14

Once known as the Spider because of his network of informants, Varys has nothing left to offer as he keeps Dany company in the North. Just like Melissandre, Varys' days of 'whispering in the ears of kings' are coming to an end. This might be the last time we will be seeing Varys because there are grave chances that Melissandre's prophecy for him might come true and he may end up dying in Westeros. (Helen Sloan/HBO)

14. Davos Seaworth: Wise knight

Davos Seaworth: Wise knight
14/14

If Dany has Tyrion and Varys, Jon Snow has the counsel of Davos Seaworth. Davos' journey from being the Onion Knight to becoming the hand of Jon Snow (sort of) is one of the shining tales of loyalty in the entire series. He has seen and dealt with things -- from Melissandre's magic to wights from beyond the wall. Will Jon take his counsel or rely on his own judgement? (Helen Sloan/HBO)
