Fans of the Harry Potter film series, based on the novels by British author J.K. Rowling, are familiar with Nagini, the greenish snake loyal to the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. Remarkably, a similar green-coloured snake has been discovered in the real world at Kaziranga National Park. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared pictures of the snake on social media, dubbing it a "magical snake."

"Guess what, kids? Kaziranga just found a real-life Harry Potter snake! Meet the super cool Salazar Pit Viper: it’s green like magic and has a funky red-orange stripe on its head. Isn’t nature awesome?" wrote the Assam CM, showcasing images of the striking green snake.

Since its posting on July 8, the discovery has garnered a wave of likes and comments from intrigued netizens.

One user exclaimed, "Assam is blessed with some stunning wildlife."
