Caught on camera: UK Conservative Party MP assaults woman Greenpeace activist

Mark Field, Conservative Party MP and an Ex-Foreign Office minister under the leadership of outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May physically assaulted a Woman Greenpeace protestor at a high profile dinner in London’s landmark Mansion House on Thursday.

In the video shared on Social Media, the Conservative Party leader was seen pushing her against the wall and escorting her out of the room by the scruff of her neck.

“He continued to grip me by the neck and the arm all the way to the door of the building. Then, when we got to the door, he shoved me outside on to the street, and said: ‘This is what happens when people like you disturb our dinner.’”, she reported to TheGuardian.

The incident happened when Finance Minister Mark Hammond was addressing the top leaders of the country's financial services on Brexit and Banking regulation at London's Mansion-house.

The Greenpeace activist was trying to interrupt Mark Hammond by chanting slogans about climate change when Mark Field assaulted her.

In a statement, Mark Field said that he reacted on instinct because he thought that the protestor was armed.

“I deeply regret this episode and unreservedly apologise to the lady concerned for grabbing her but in the current climate I felt I needed to act decisively to close down the threat to the safety of those present”, The Guardian reported him saying.

 " Mark Field needs an anger management course.", The Guardian quoted Janet Baker as saying.
