Many of you must have felt that your phone listens to what you're saying. What do you do on your phone? What do you see? What do you hear and what do you search for? It seems that all this data is being stored somewhere. For example, you have to get your child admitted in a private college and you have done a little research about it or your hair is falling fast and you have talked to someone about its medicine or you have to buy a new car. And if you have asked someone on this, then after a few hours, your phone will start showing advertisements for private colleges, hair medicines and new vehicles and you will be surprised how the phone knew what you were looking for.

India's Parliamentary Committee on Information Technology asked Google the same question whether it listens to the conversation of its users. On this, Google probably admitted for the first time that it listens to the conversations of its users.

On June 29, the Parliamentary Committee of the Union IT Ministry had called a meeting on the misuse of Social Media Platforms, in which representatives of technology companies Google and Facebook appeared before this committee. During this, the parliamentary committee from Google said that they doubt some of Google's services and it seems that Google listens to Indian users. In this meeting, Google agreed that the company listens to some things of its users, but sensitive things are not heard.

On this answer of Google, the members of the parliamentary committee were surprised and the committee asked how Google decides which of its users' content is sensitive and which is not? But Google did not have any concrete answer to this question, after which the parliamentary committee asked the IT Ministry to be present in the next meeting on this and expressed concern over this whole matter.

The parliamentary committee got worried that Google listens to Indian users and that is why the next meeting has been kept for the intervention of the IT Ministry in this matter. There is no mention in India's Information Technology Act, 2000 that technology companies can listen to their users.

These big tech companies claim that they do not collect the data of their users' messages and voice calls. And WhatsApp had implemented End to End Encryption Policy for this in the year 2016 itself, which means that only two people can read the message sent by a person on WhatsApp, one sender and the receiver.

Although the question that is in your mind is there are many apps and services of Google, through which of these services are users heard?

So there are many such reports, in which it has come to the fore that what is said on the Google Assistant is heard by Google. Google Assistant is such a feature, with the help of which you can open any website on Google Search Engine by just speaking without typing anything. And Google also has a policy regarding this.

This policy says that the conversations that happen between Google users and the Google Assistant are recorded by the company. But nowhere in this policy is it written that whether the company listens to these things recorded or not. However, now the company has accepted that it listens to these things. There is also shocking information that Google has admitted in front of a parliamentary committee that in many cases the things said by its users can be recorded in the system even without using the Google Assistant.

And Google also has a policy regarding this.

There is also shocking information here that Google has admitted in front of a parliamentary committee that in many cases the things said by its users can be recorded in the system even without using the Google Assistant.

In January 2019, a Belgian news channel played several recordings made in Dutch language on the channel. After this, Google had then admitted that all these recordings were done by it, which were later leaked. At that time it was also revealed that out of every thousand recordings, 153 recordings are such, which are recorded in the system without using Google Assistant.

Think where is the privacy of people?

As of January 2020, Google Assistant had 500 million users all over the world. Which would have increased even more now. And why this must have happened, you should also understand it today.

The feature of Google Assistant is already present in Android Mobile Phones sold all over the world. That is, it does not even have to be downloaded and people who buy Android Mobile Phones become products for these companies even if they do not want to. Because the company earns money by selling their data. Apart from this, its app can also be downloaded in Smart Home Devices and iPhones. Simply put, this is a danger that will always be there while using mobile phones.

Today, we wrote an email to Google regarding this topic and tried to know its side. In our e-mail reply, Google shared a link with us and wrote that after reading this you will understand how Google Assistant works. In this email, Google appeared to refrain from answering directly whether it listens to people or not.

When we opened that link, we found a Write Up titled 'More information about our processes to safeguard speech data.'

Through this, Google told us that they learned that one of their Launguage Reviewers had violated Google's Data Security Policy by leaking confidential Dutch audio data and they are investigating it. Google says that Google Assistant sends your audio to Google only after your given command.

Today we also want to tell you how you can save your data from these companies.

First thing - Before using any app, definitely read its Terms and Conditions.

Second thing - You can auto delete your data by going to Settings.

And the third thing is that you can avoid this by turning off the Microphone.
