With just eight days to go for the Common Entrance Test (CAT), 2010, Anukaanchan Solutions Private Limited, a Rajkot-based tech firm, is offering B-schools aspirants a chance to test their preparation levels.

The company in collaboration with www.mindfiesta.com, an e-learning firm, is hosting a mock test series — CATfiesta 2010 — for the candidates appearing for CAT 2010.

The test, which is scheduled to be held on October 24, will allow the students to compete with B-school aspirants across the country under one platform.

Interested candidates can log on to http://www.mindfiesta.com/ catmock/reg.php to register online till October 22. Registration fee is Rs399.

“We will conduct seven practice tests which are specially designed for the purpose and one final mock exam to give the candidates a final chance to rehearse their skills,” said Sharad Babu, member of CATfiesta team.

“The results will be out in 24 hours after the test to help them with that last push in the right direction. Top 100 scorers will be given prizes and everyone taking the test will get a participation certificate,” he said.

Student can either take the test online sitting at their homes through the website or can opt for testing centres. “We have finalised two engineering colleges in the city as centres. However, we cannot name them now as we are yet to sign the contract.

Before October 24 we will publish their names in our website,” he said.

Candidates, who are caught engaging in any sort of misconduct during the test, would be banned from taking the test, said Babu. “CATfiesta is held on the lines of real CAT. So we will not tolerate candidates misbehaving during the test,” he said.

Shiv Kumar, director (academics) Career Launcher, a leading coaching institute in the city, said, “Mock tests will help candidates to familiarise with the kind of questions that are likely to appear in the original exam. Moreover, the candidates can experience the online format.”
