'Coolie No 1' song 'Mirchi Lagi Toh': Varun Dhawan-Sara Ali Khan will make you miss Govinda-Karisma Kapoor more

The much-awaited song from Coolie No 1 is out! The lead actors Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan have stepped into the shoes of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor and recreated 'Mirchi Lagi Toh' song. In the new video, both are seen shaking their leg in a candy set up and showing the iconic Bollywood steps which were way popular in the 90s. Interestingly, 'Husnn Hai Suhaana New', the makers have retained the original singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik.

Reimagined by Lilo George and DJ Chetas, the original song was composed by Anand-Milind while the lyrics were penned by Sameer.

While talking about recreating the iconic songs in new Coolie No 1, filmmaker David Dhawan stated, "Songs from the original Coolie No. 1 are hugely popular and timeless, according to me these tracks also helped the film. I was always clear that if I ever made this film again, I would use these blockbuster songs. The songs from the original were created by music directors Anand Milind and written by lyricist Sameer, who is close to me. We have done a lot of work together, by including these songs in the new Coolie No.1 it was my way to pay back."

Talking about Coolie No 1, the film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh. This is the first time Varun and Sara are sharing the screen space. Coolie No 1 also stars Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Javed Jaafri, Shikha Talsania and others in pivotal roles.

The movie will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from December 25, 2020.
