'Dil Se' has completed 22 years today, and while the film may be involved in controversies in the current scenario, it is difficult to ignore the magic of the music that the film created. AR Rahman composed the music of the film, while Gulzar penned the lyrics, and together, they made a masterpiece.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, 'Dil Se' made records even with its songs (for example train sequence featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Malika Arora). However, not just the visuals, the music and voices of the songs from 'Dil Se' make the movie special.

Here's looking back at the same:

1. 'Chaiyya Chaiyya'

'Chaiyya Chaiyya' was iconic not only for Shah Rukh Khan-Malaika Arora dancing on the roof a moving train, but also for Sukhwinder Singh's voice, and of course, AR Rahman's music. The way the song starts on a high note, and goes on a continuous pace, set it apart at that time.

2. Jiya Jale

Featuring Preity Zinta, 'Jiya Jale' was soothing as soon as one hears it, all thanks to Lata Mangeshkar's voice on Rahman's music. It is also a song which has lyrics from one of the South Indian languages, and is loved by people who don't even understand the language.

3. Dil Se Re

Composed and sung by AR Rahman, 'Dil Se Re' still beats in hearts. It was also the time when Shah Rukh Khan took 'playing with fire' too literally.

4. Ae Ajnabi

Udit Narayan and Mahalakshmi Iyer collaborated for 'Ae Ajnabi', a song which is still loved by many.

5. Satrangi Re

Sonu Nigam's high and low pitches in 'Satrangi Re' make the song, featuring romance between Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, a memorable one.
