'She deserves better': Fans slam Bachchans as they omit Aishwarya Rai, Aaradhya from family photo at Ambani wedding

The Ambani wedding was held in Mumbai on Friday evening. The grand wedding of Anant Ambani, the younger son of Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of diamond baron Viren Merchant, took place in the Bandra Kurla Complex. And all of Indian film industry was present at the occasion from Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna to Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. However, one incident soured the night for many fans. The Bachchan family arrived at the venue and posed together – with one notable exception. Aishwarya Rai wasn’t with them, further fuelling speculations that she and Abhishek Bachchan are separated.

Amitabh Bachchan arrived with Jaya Bachchan at the venue of the Ambani wedding a little before 9pm on Friday evening. They were soon joined by son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. And while Shweta’s family – husband Nikhil Nanda and children Navya Naveli and Agastya Nanda – were present with her, Abhishek’s wife and daughter were not. The absence of Aishwarya and Aaradhya did not go unnoticed. As the family posed for the paps, the pictures went viral online with fans pointing out Aishwarya’s absence.

Over the last one year, there have been several reports of a rift or split between Abhishek and Aishwarya but neither party has commented on it publicly. But many fans took this separate picture as a confirmation of those rumours. “So the separation is pretty evident now,” commented one Reddit user. Another netizen defended Aishwarya and slammed the Bachchans saying, “Abhishek didn’t pose with them…basically entire Bachchan family posed leaving them… Ash baby you deserved a better partner.”

Aishwarya did arrive at the wedding barely a few minutes later with Aaradhya by her side. The actress interacted with Rekha behind-the-stage before posing for the paps with her daughter, away from the Bachchan family. “Yikes, she arrived alone, but you know what she deserves better . If the rumors are true, then good for her. She doesn't need them,” one comment read.
