India and South Africa are poised to showcase their best performances in pursuit of the prestigious T20 World Cup 2024 trophy in Barbados on Saturday, June 29. Both teams have maintained an unbeaten record leading up to the final, yet the unpredictable weather conditions at Kensington Oval may prove to be a significant factor.

The weather forecast for Bridgetown on June 29 indicates a 50 percent chance of precipitation. While rain is expected to taper off as the game unfolds, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has already established playing conditions and regulations for the final to ensure a complete and fair match for the spectators.

Barbados weather report

Fans in Barbados have experienced heavy rain the day before the final match. According to an AccuWeather report, there is a 44% to 55% chance of rain during the game on Saturday. The Google weather forecast also confirms this prediction, but the rain is expected to subside after 12:30 pm local time (10:00 pm IST). This means that fans may still have the opportunity to witness a full game on Saturday.

Reserve day and cut-off time

The ICC has made provisions for additional time in the upcoming match, with an additional 190 minutes set aside for the final on Saturday. The game is scheduled to commence at 10:30 AM local time (8:00 PM IST), with a cut-off time of 1:40 PM (11:10 IST) in place. It is important to note that teams must complete at least 10 overs for the DLS method to come into effect.

Furthermore, the ICC has confirmed a reserve day for the final match. In the event that a minimum of 10 overs cannot be played on Saturday due to inclement weather, the game will be rescheduled for Sunday. Should rain disrupt play during the match, teams will resume proceedings on the reserve day at 10:30 AM local time (8:00 PM IST).

What if rain washes out game on reserve day?

In the event of a complete washout on the reserve day, both teams will be declared joint-winners and will share the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy.
