    Rohit Sharma returned to form after a long lean patch against Bangladesh in the 5th match of the Nidahas Trophy on Wednesday. Sharma's 89 off 61 balls was instumental in India's 17-run win. 

    During the course of the innings, Sharna went on to achieve the feat of scoring the most number of sixes -75 – by an Indian in T20 cricket. Sharma reached the record with the fifth six of the innings. He went past Yuvraj Singh’s tally of 74. Suresh Raina (54 sixes), MS Dhoni (46) and Virat Kohli (41) are the other active Indian players on the list.

    Sharma is known for his hard-hitting abilities. Among the batsmen who have hit the most number of sixes in a single T20I innings for India, Sharma tops the list with 10 maximums. He also holds the record of most number of sixes in a calendar year hitting 64 of them in 2017. AB De Villiers had hit 63 in 2015.

    Rohit Sharma holds the record for most sixes in an year by an Indian. 

    India reached the final of the Nidahas Twenty20 tri-series with a convincing -run win over Bangladesh at R Premadasa stadium on Wednesday.

    Skipper Rohit Sharma produced a 89-run knock while Suresh Raina contributed 47 in India's innings. India off-spinner Washington Sundar took three wickets to unsettle the top-order, paving the way for India's win.

    For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim scored unbeaten 72.

    Leading the side in the absence of rested regular skipper Virat Kohli, opening batsman Rohit hit five fours and an equal number of sixes in his 61-ball knock to guide India to 176-3 in their 20 overs.
