UPSC exams are one of the toughest exams in India and it is no small feat to crack it with numerous aspirants taking the exams each year. Today we will talk about the inspiring success story of IAS Anudeep Durishetty, an IAS officer, who made history by securing All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) in 2017. 

Anudeep started his UPSC CSE journey after finishing his graduation from BITS Pilani and then worked as a Software Engineer at Google. Despite a lucrative job, his passion was to serve the nation by becoming an IAS officer. 

His first attempt in 2012 did not yield success, and his next try in 2013 secured him a position in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), his dream of becoming an IAS officer remained unfulfilled.

Unperturbed, Anudeep gave the UPSC CSE in 2014 and 2015. Despite facing failures, in 2017, on his fifth attempt, Anudeep not only became IAS but also emerged as the topper of the UPSC CSE 2017 with AIR 01—an extraordinary feat that he achieved without any coaching. He is presently posted as the District Collector of Hyderabad.

He also accomplished the feat of scoring the highest marks ever in UPSC exams. In 2017, Anudeep scored 1,126 marks out of 2,025.
