IAS, IPS and IFS officers have such motivational and inspiring success stories that even popular Bollywood celebrities admire and appreciate them. One such inspiring personality is IAS Aashima Goyal who with her sharpness charmed the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan.
A native of Ballabgarh town, Haryana, Aashima (26) is serving as an IAS from the 2020 batch, Uttarakhand cadre. Aashima has been good in her studies since childhood and topped the examinations. Ashima’s father managed a cyber cafe and her mother is a housewife. Her elder sister is a Chartered Accountant.
After schooling, Aashima did her Bachelor's and Master’s in Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She then decided to prepare for the UPSC during her M Tech course.
After graduating, Aashima got a high-paying corporate job in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, she attempted the UPSC exam for the first time in 2018. Later, she left her job to solely focus on the preparations.
She prepared without coaching and finally cracked UPSC and became an IAS in 2019 on the second attempt with AIR 65.
As per reports, Aashima studied for 9-10 hours daily while pursuing chemical engineering. She targeted her weak points in the UPSC syllabus after failing on the first attempt.
She was initially posted in the Kerala cadre on her appointment. She later took the inter-cadre transfer after marrying IFS officer Rahul Mishra in 2022. She was consequently moved to Uttarakhand cadre.
Besides this, she also received limelight from the famous Hindi television show Kaun Banega Crorepati where she got featured on the show via video call to help a contestant named Abhinav Singh. She answered the question in just five seconds, which impressed and charmed Big B who then appreciated her for her exceptional knowledge.
