Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was born on December 26, 1973, in Haryana into a middle-class family. His upbringing was heavily influenced by academia.
A well-known teacher with expertise in UPSC subjects, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti, has received a lot of attention on different platforms. With brief clips from his lectures posted on Instagram, he has a sizable fan base. In addition, his coaching centre, Drishti IAS, has over 11 million subscribers, while his personal YouTube channel has an impressive 2.95 million subscribers.
Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was born on December 26, 1973, in Haryana into a middle-class family. His upbringing was heavily influenced by academia. He developed a passion for learning from his parents, a renowned professor of Hindi literature at Maharishi Dayanand University and a committed PGT teacher in Bhiwani. Growing up with two older brothers, one of whom works as a software engineer in the US and the other as a DIG at the CBI, Vikas Divyakirti was driven to pursue his studies.
Saraswati Shishu Mandir in the Bhiwani district was the starting point of his academic career. He then pursued undergraduate studies at Delhi University's Zakir Husain Delhi College, where he graduated with a BA in Hindi. After that, he pursued postgraduate studies in Hindi and English, eventually receiving degrees in MA, MPhil, and PhD.
At Delhi University, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti began his teaching career. But after putting in a lot of effort to study for the UPSC exams, he was able to get an AIR 384 in 1996. After serving briefly in the Ministry of Home Affairs, he made the decision to follow his true passion, which is education, and in 1999 he founded the renowned Drishti IAS coaching centre in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi.
Along with his academic pursuits, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti gained notoriety for playing himself in the 2023 movie "12th Fail."
