We often hear and read about the success stories of candidates who crack the Union Civil Service Commission (UPSC) exams with hard work and dedication. UPSC exams are held every year in India, and thousands of aspirants sit for the competitive exam, but only a few crack it, let alone in their first attempt. Today, we will tell you the success story of Chandrajyoti Singh, who cracked the coveted UPSC exam on her very first attempt in 2019 with AIR 28. She managed to achieve this feat without any coaching. 

Chandrajyoti Singh was born to Dalbara Singh, a retired Colonel, and Lt Col Meena Singh, a retired army radiologist. Looking at her parents' journey and dedication to serving the country, Chandrajyoti Singh vowed the same since her childhood. When she was preparing for the UPSC exam, her parents stood by her like a rock. 

For the unversed, Chandrajyoti Singh completed class 10 from the APJ School, Jalandhar with a 10 CGPA and her class 12th board exam from Bhawan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh with 95.4 percent. She then moved to Delhi in 2015. 

Chandrajyoti Singh pursued her studies further, earning a 7.75 CGPA and an honours degree in history from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, in 2018.

After her graduation was completed, Chandrajyoti Singh took a year off after which she began her preparations for the UPSC exam. 

After graduating, Singh took a year off before starting her UPSC preparation process in 2018. With a strict plan and unwavering commitment, she not only passed the UPSC exam but also achieved an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) 28. Chandrajyoti Singh, who was 22, assumed the esteemed title of an IAS officer.

She was then posted to the Ministry of External Affairs as Assistant Secretary for four months. She joined the Government of Punjab as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Sultanpur Lodhi in 2022.
