British actor Jude Law has become the latest star to join a panel of Hollywood actors, which will decide the winner of an Australian film scholarship created in the honour of late actor Heath Ledger.

The Australians in Film Scholarship was inaugurated by Ledger's ex-fiancee Michelle Williams, and is supported by the Ledger family, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman and Baz Luhrmann.

Actress Rachel Griffiths and filmmaker Gregor Jordan headed this year's panel, which saw Aussie performer Oliver Ackland bag the £6,250 award. And now Law is delighted to be a part of the panel.

"I am delighted and honoured to do what I can to keep Heath's legacy alive. He was a brilliant actor and a wonderful man and it is only fitting that this scholarship has been developed in his name," the Daily Express quoted him, as saying.

The winner of bursary will be announced in February.
