Wednesday evening saw the premiere of the movie ‘Lady in the Water’ at Cinemax, Versova. Considering the fact that it’s a M Night Shyamalan film, it was not surprising to see the celebs come in droves. Kashmira Shah for one, couldn’t wait for the movie to start. “I’m sure this movie will be as good as the earlier ones,” one heard her say. Also making it to this do were Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, Sudanshu Pandde, Reshma Bombaywalla, Shruti Sheth and VJ Ramona. Shekhar Suman made a fashionably late entry and he happily posed with Bobby Darling for the shutterbugs. Shweta Kawatra had hubby Manav Gohil for company.

At the premiere of the film ‘Lady in the Water’, we asked some of our celebs who they’d love to see as the sea nymph in an Indian version of the film. Here’s what they had to say...

Pooja Bedi —TV host: It’ll have to be someone who’s fair enough to look like a sea nymph! So it would be a Katrina Kaif or a Yana Gupta.

Vivek Agnihotri —Director: Definitely Aishwarya Rai; she’ll look gorgeous even without makeup!

Divya Palat —Theatre personality: It would have to be Manisha Koirala; she has that vulnerable look that is essential to the role.

Arzoo Gowatrikar— TV actor: If I were to make an Indian version, I’d go for a fresh face as I can’t seem to think of anyone from Bollywood!

Lascelles Symons —Designer: I think Tabu would suit the role as she has that soft, forlorn look.

Vidisha Pavate —Model: I don’t think there’s any Indian actress who is innocent enough to essay such a role. So I’d opt for a young talented newcomer.

The premiere of ‘Lady in the Water’ was in association with ‘DNA After Hrs’ and Warner Bros Pictures.
