India Unlock: Prominent zoos reopen across the country in August

According to information posted on the Nandakanan Zoological Park's official website, the zoo will reopen on August 3, 2021. The zoological park and the botanical garden are open from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., except Mondays. Nandankanan Zoo is India's second largest zoo. The zoo, often known as "The Garden of Heaven," is located 15 km from Odisha's capital, Bhubaneswar. Visitors can also buy ticket online.

Guidelines: Visitors should not have a cough, cold, or fever. To visit the zoo, all adults and children aged seven and up must wear a mask. On the zoo grounds, visitors should keep a social distance. Face shields, globes, and masks will be worn by staff at the entry gate, ticket office, and restroom.

Surrounded on three sides by the Eastern Ghats and situated in the Kambalakonda Forest Reserve, this park covers 625 acres and is home to around 80 kinds of wildlife, making it one of Andhra Pradesh's largest zoological parks. The Park has been divided into categories as carnivores, primates, ungulates, mammals, and birds. It will reopen on August 3, 2021. Public can visit from Tuesday to Sunday; the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Mondays, the park is closed.

Guidelines: Visitors are advised to put on masks and follow social distance rules. Outside food, plastics, and crackers will not be permitted on the Zoo grounds. Visitors can purchase tickets using our website www.vizagzoo.com's online platform.

More than 1,500 species of birds, mammals, and reptiles may be found at the Nehru Zoological Park. The Lion Safari is the zoo's main attraction for visitors. A prehistoric dinosaur park, a nocturnal zoo, a natural history museum, a mini-train, multiple parks, and animal rides are all available to visitors. The Zoo remains open every day (except holidays) from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Because of the Covid-19 restrictions, the Zoo was closed since May and on July 11, 2021 it was reopened. The necessary Covid-19 guidelines such as no entry without masks and social distancing are being followed in the premises.

According to the zoo's executive director, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens in Mysuru and Karanji Lake was reopened to the public on July 5, 2021, strictly following the government's COVID-19 Standard Operating Guidelines. The Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, also known as the Mysuru Zoo, is the most popular zoo in Karnataka and one of the country's oldest, built in 1892. It’s popular for Tigers, especially white tigers. The visiting hours starts from 8.30 AM till 5.30 PM on all days, except on Tuesday.

The National Zoological Park in New Delhi is a botanical garden with over 126 species of animals, a gorgeous green island, and a sixteenth-century structure. The White Tiger is the zoo's specialty and a fantastic attraction. The Zoo reopened on August 1, 2021 in two shifts - 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm.
