India's only Railway portal, IRCTC, will now help you book and buy air tickets. Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation brings air travel option for all its users under a new section named IRCTC Air.

The e-ticketing and catering arm of Indian Railways has lately introduced the air travel option and free-of-cost travel insurance to those customers who book air tickets through the official air ticketing website IRCTC Air. 

Customers can now book their tickets for both domestic and international fights on air ticketing platform air.irctc.co.in. 

IRCTC Air has also planned to offer free air travel insurance to its customers worth up to Rs 50 lakh. In view of this, the Indian Railway portal has tied up with Bharti AXA General insurance company to provide free-of-cost travel insurance. In the month of February IRCTC has also tied up with Google to make their visibility increase and help you make air ticket booking easier. 

IRCTC Air ticket service is now likely to give a tough time to the dominant travel portals like MakeMy Trip, clear trip, go ibibo. After tying up with Google, under the agreement, the IRCTC AIR TICKET service is going to be available in the Google Flight Option soon. Indian Railways also claims to give cheaper air tickets than the other travel portals. 

Of course, for the passengers, this will be a great opportunity in the coming times, where IRCTC's landing on the Google flight can give them a chance to get cheap air travel.
