The entire family of Captain Anshuman Singh, who was martyred in July last year, is currently in the news. His wife Smriti Singh received the Kirti Chakra that was awarded to her husband posthumously earlier this month. The parents are accusing their daughter-in-law of keeping the honour given to the son for herself. Days later many social media users mistakenly trolled a woman over her several Instagram reels claiming to be Captain Anshuman Singh’s widow Smriti Singh.

However, it turned out that the viral woman in many reels is not Smriti Singh. She is Reshma Sebastian, a popular fashion influencer from Kerala. The influencer ever clarified that she is not Smriti Singh. Reshma has faced vicious trolling over her posts on fashion after being mistaken for Smriti Singh.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, "This is not Smriti Singh's (widow of Indian Army soldier Capt Anshuman Singh) page/ig account. Read the profile details and bio first. Please refrain from spreading false information and hate comments." Hence, the woman in the viral reel is Reshma Sebastian, not Smriti Singh.

Who is Reshma Sebastian?

She is an engineer turned model, a mom and an influencer.  Reshma has 346K followers on Instagram and she lives in Germany with her husband and daughter. She started her modelling career in 2011, while simultaneously working as an IT engineer. She is an advocate for the importance of financial independence among young women.
