Rohit Bal is designing for friends

Fashion’s enfant Rohit Bal is busy these days and for all the right reasons. Bal is doing something that he loves, designing for his friends. Of course, his friends just like him are popular personalities.

As reported earlier he is designing for actor Amitabh Bachchan for a television show and if sources are to be believed, the designer may make his debut by styling for his very first Bollywood film very soon. He will be designing the wardrobe for close pal Arjun Rampal’s upcoming film.

But designing for Arjun was not something that Bal was always open to doing. In an earlier interview he had spoken about Arjun to DNA.

“If Arjun (Rampal) asks me to design for him for any of his film projects I will be more than happy to do it. He is a dear friend and therefore I am comfortable doing it. But I can’t be a full time Bollywood designer I am just not comfortable doing it,” says Bal. However he appreciates designers like Manish Malhotra and Aki Narula who have designed for more than 700 Bollywood films.

Rumour mills are abuzz that the designer has immersed himself in work post the break up with long time boyfriend Lalit Trehan. But Bal denies calling it a sham, he says, “Firstly I and Lalit have no bad blood between us. These are some mean people who just want to gossip about me but I wonder why will anyone care what I do in my personal life. I was ill till some time back but now I am feeling better so if I am going to work more why should anyone have any issues.”

Finally talking about his future plans, Rohit aka Gudda says, “I wish to have more restaurants as I love to be a host. So I will be working on the expansion plans. Besides designing and creating quality fashion is something that I will do forever.”
