The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, indicating that some areas of the city may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on Sunday. Additionally, a red alert has been issued for the districts of Satara, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri, signaling extremely heavy rainfall in these regions on July 14.

The Regional Meteorological Center in Mumbai has emphasized that Satara, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri are likely to receive substantial rainfall, which could lead to potential flooding and other related issues.

On Saturday morning, heavy rains hit Mumbai, resulting in waterlogging in several parts of the city, including the Andheri subway. This prompted the authorities to undertake water pumping operations to clear the accumulated water and to restrict traffic movement to ensure safety.

Furthermore, the city authorities have issued a ‘high tide’ warning, predicting a high tide of 3.69 meters at 4:39 pm today. This could exacerbate the waterlogging issues in some areas. Residents are advised to stay cautious and avoid traveling to waterlogged areas if possible.

The weather forecast indicates that the maximum and minimum temperatures in Mumbai will likely be around 29 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. The residents must be prepared for a wet spell over the next few days, as a yellow alert is in place from July 14 until July 16. This alert suggests that while the rainfall may not be as intense as during the red alert, it will still be significant and could cause disruptions.

Overall, the weather situation calls for vigilance and preparedness. Residents of the affected areas are advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports and follow the guidance of local authorities to stay safe during this period of heavy rainfall and high tides.
