After a murder accused, allegedly 18, sought bail in the juvenile court, the victim’s father has moved the Bombay high court, alleging tardy investigation and has sought an enquiry against the officers concerned. The deceased, Sohail Sayyed, was 17 at the time of his death.

Sohail was allegedly killed by a woman and some men aged between 22 and 26 on August 22, 2008. The police have arrested accused Vishal Pawar alias Sameer Shaikh and his wife, Shabana Shaikh.

Sohail’s father Shane Sayyed, 51, has filed a writ petition in the high court alleging shoddy investigation on the part of Pant Nagar police in this case “to deliberately shield” the accused in the case.

Sayyed has also sought an enquiry against investigating officers and has demanded that the case be transferred to the crime branch.
