In a video that has now gone viral, a 46-year-old man at a Game Reserve in South Africa encountered a lion roaring at him from outside his kitchen window when he went to get his morning cup of coffee.

The viral video shot on June 25, 2021, shows the man named Dylan Panos inside an open kitchen at a camp trying to brew his coffee when a lion roars at him whenever it spots him through the window.

The man captured the whole event on his camera through the open-air kitchen window of his camp which is located on the Somkhanda Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

What's more, there is also a lioness lying right next to the kitchen wall. The male lion was actively pursuing this lioness for mating. The video was released on YouTube by a channel called ViralHog.

While the open kitchen window has mesh wire to keep wild animals outside, the room also has a small gate that offers some relative safety to anyone inside. The rest of the camp is mostly unfenced and lacks doors.

The lion keeps growling at Dylan whenever it spots him through the window. However, the caption in the video clarifies that Dylan won't be in any danger until he interrupts the lion's pursuit.

Dylan was able to stay calm and composed and have a bit of fun in the video. Dylan tries to play around a bit with the lion and also laughs at it saying, "Very funny lion you are."

The hair-raising video also mentions that lions generally keep their distance from the human camp in the Game Reserve. The two lions reportedly left the place after about 40 minutes.

On that particular day when the video was shot, Dylan and the students spotted eight lions walking through the camp. This particular lion seemed too determined to leave.
