Is Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar inspired by Rock the Kasbah?

Secret Superstar has Aamir playing a musician and mentor to an aspiring singer played by Zaira Wasim (young Geeta Phogat from Dangal). The first teaser of the film was about how a Muslim teenager from a conservative family harbours ambitions of becoming a rockstar. However, her father disapproves of the idea, which leads her to secretly carry out her ambitions, by posting videos of her singing on YouTube, but incognito as she wears a burkha to hide her identity. But her singing gets the attention of an ageing and quirky rockstar who wants to mentor her. Interestingly, this story is similar to one of the tracks in Bill Murray’s Rock The Kasbah. In the Hollywood movie, Bill plays a has-been rock band manager who goes to the war-torn Afghanistan. where he finds a musical prodigy in an Afghan girl and nurtures her to win a musical talent contest. Here, the girl is fighting not just a dogmatic father, but an entire dogmatic country.
