Lata Mangeshkar helped the BCCI raise cash rewards for the 1983 World Cup-winning team by doing a concert. There is another singer, who at the age of 7, sang at shops for a week to raise money for the Kargil War heroes' families. She has now become a star.

The singer we are talking about has saved the lives of 3000 children and continues to raise funds for underprivileged children. Not only her, but even her brother is a Bollywood singer. She is none other than Palak Muchhal.

Palak Muchhal was born into a Maheshwari Marwari family in Indore. Her mother, Amita Muchhal, is a homemaker and her father, Rajkumar Muchhal, works for a private firm. She became a member of Kalyanji-Anandji Little Star, a group of young singers when she was four years old. During the Kargil War of 1999, when she was just seven, she spent a week singing at shops in her home city, Indore, to raise funds for the families of deceased Indian soldiers. Her efforts received substantial coverage in Indian media and she raised ₹25,000 (US$810).

In the year 2000, Palak started traveling abroad under the name of charity shows 'Dil Se Dil Tak' and 'Save Little Heart' show in English and started using whatever money she collected to treat children suffering from heart disease. Palak funds free heart surgeries for underprivileged children. She has helped over 3,000 kids so far.

In 2011, Palak entered Bollywood as a professional playback singer but her efforts to help child heart patients continued. She sang her first Bollywood song for the October 2011 movie Damadamm!. She was an acquaintance of actor Salman Khan. Khan had recommended her name earlier to music director Sajid–Wajid for his film Veer. Following this, Palak dubbed "Laapata" with KK for the Yash Raj banner which was later included in Ek Tha Tiger. The song was a huge hit and made her a star.

After this, there is no looking back for the singer. She gave several hits like 'Kaun Tujhe' in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, 'Chaahun Main Ya Naa' in Aashiqui 2, 'Photocopy' in Jai Ho, 'Jumme Ki Raat' in Kick, 'Panchhi Bole' in Baahubali: The Beginning and more.
